Shota Murgulia was born on September 21st of 1979 in Kutaisi.
In 2001 graduated Tbilisi Technical University, faculty of economy and law.
In 1999-2000 visited Germany, Luneburg, with exchange program, where he studied in FH Nordostniedersachsen University.
From June 2000 till February of 2001 he was a probationer at Georgian Supreme Court Administrative chamber.
In 2002-2012 he worked in Strategic Research and Development Center as the Research and Reform Support Program Coordinator.
From October 2012 till November 2013 was the deputy minister of Regional Development and infrastructure.
2002 – 2013 – lecturer at Ilia State University, Tbilisi Free University, Georgian Technical University and Robert Bosch fund.
From 2008 till now is reading lectures in Georgian Grigol Robakidze University.
From November of 2013 is acting Mayor in Kutaisi City.
Speaks Russian, English and German.
Married with two children.
