CEC to request GEL 4 700 000 for conduct of second round of elections

The Central Election Commission will request GEL 4 700 000 from the Ministry of Finance for conduct of the second round of elections and the repeated elections.

The Central Election Commission adopted a resolution at today’s meeting, which defines the amount of finances needed for the second round of elections and the repeated elections.

According to him, the Republican Party was punished for disobedience to Bidzina Ivanishvili.

"Of course, we were punished for disobedience to Bidzina Ivanishvili, but I prefer to be punished rather than rewarded for wrong steps", - said the Speaker.

Political parties and independent candidates spent a total of 25 449 079 GEL in the pre- election period, from June 8 to September 20.

According to the State Audit Service, most of all - 13 498 020 GEL was spent by the ruling Georgian Dream party.

The State Audit Office reports that the highest donation - 16 101 506 GEL was received by the Georgian Dream, which is followed by Paata Burchuladze’s Staet for People with 4 205 343 GEL.
