Only 4 816 out of 49 694 voters registered abroad took part in the parliamentary elections.

The Central Election Commission summarized results of the elections held on 8 October outside Georgia.

We cannot take the responsibility to call on the voters to support the National Movement, - Free Democrats’ leader Shalva Shavgulidze told reporters.

Shavgulidze believes that we will get a grave situation if the Georgian Dream gets constitutional majority.

The President calls on the population to go to polls in the second round. The corresponding statement was made at a press conference by president’s spokesperson Eka Mishveladze.

"The country is still in the election regime. The second round is very important. The President calls on the population to be active in the first place and to express their choice, since it is the will of the voters that will have a decisive impact on the elections", - Mishveladze said.

The United States congratulates the people of Georgia on competitive and well-administered October 8 elections that largely respected fundamental freedoms, as assessed by the OSCE Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. These elections affirm Georgia as a leader of democratic reform in the region.

I prefer to be punished rather than rewarded for wrong steps, - Parliament Speaker Davit Usupashvili told the Kviris Palitra newspaper.

According to him, the Republican Party was punished for disobedience to Bidzina Ivanishvili.

Political parties and independent candidates spent a total of 25 449 079 GEL in the pre- election period, from June 8 to September 20.

According to the State Audit Service, most of all - 13 498 020 GEL was spent by the ruling Georgian Dream party.

Political parties and independent candidates received donations worth in the pre-election period, from June 8 to October 1.

The State Audit Office reports that the highest donation - 16 101 506 GEL was received by the Georgian Dream, which is followed by Paata Burchuladze’s Staet for People with 4 205 343 GEL.

According to National Movement member Giorgi Baramidze, there was an attempt to replace the parliamentary majority by uniting the National Movement, National Forum, Republicans and Free Democrats.

We have not had any negotiations neither during being in the coalition nor after leaving it, - Kakha Shartava, one of the leaders of the National Forum, said in response to National Movement member Giorgi Baramidze’s statement, according to which, there were negotiations about unification of Free Democrats, National Movement, National Forum and Republicans in the parliament.
