We think that the elections reflected the will of the Georgian people, - Ian Kelly, the US Ambassador to Georgia told journalists.
He also said that there were cases of violence, a thorough investigation of which depends on the government. According to him, the second round of elections should be held in a quiet environment.
"There were cases of violence and intimidation. We, of course, strongly condemn this, especially on the election day. An investigation of these cases now depends on the government. I will repeat that the elections expressed the will of the Georgian people”, said the Ambassador.
The US Ambassador made the mentioned comments in the port of Batumi, where a reception was held with regard to the entry of the USS Mount Whitney ship.
