The Georgian parliament reflected the will of voters by adopting the anti-discrimination law, US Ambassador to Georgia Richard Norland told journalists in Zugdidi, Samegrelo region of Georgia.
He congratulated the parliament on adopting the anti-discrimination law.
‘The Georgian parliament voted to pass the law and this reflected the will of the voters and we congratulate the parliament on adopting this law’, the Ambassador said.
The bill on Eradication of All Forms of Discrimination was adopted in the third reading last week. The bill was adopted unanimously with 115 votes. The law prohibits discrimination of a person for any ground.
