54 persons applied to election administration willing to participate in Presidential elections. From this number only five women were wishing to participate in elections: Nestan Kirtadze, Asmat Machavariani, Nino Chanishvili, Nino Burjanadze and Salome Zurabishvili.

Nino Burjanadze was named by the political party, others by initiative groups. At last only three, out of five women could register as Presidential candidates: Nino Burjanadze, Nestan Kirtadze, Nino Chanishvili
