Several bans take effect on election day
07 October, 2016
Several bans are envisaged on the election day by the Election Code. In particular, pre-election propaganda is prohibited in a polling station, while the election subjects are prohibited from changing or withdrawing their representatives.
Another ban concerns circulation of free ads on TV/radio or publication of election survey results till 20:00.

In addition, taking photos or videos is banned in the ballot cabin in order to observe confidentiality of balloting. However, this is allowed outside the ballot cabin if it does not hamper the election process.

It is not allowed to lock the polling building or suspend voting except for cases when voters are unable to make their free choice.

Election administration staff is prohibited from announcing the preliminary results of the elections until they are published on the Central Election Commission’s website.
