According to National Movement member Giorgi Baramidze, there was an attempt to replace the parliamentary majority by uniting the National Movement, National Forum, Republicans and Free Democrats.

He said that the Republican Party was one of the parties that opposed the abovementioned idea.

“There was a chance to form a new configuration in the parliament. There were discussions about removing Ivanishvili from the government and replacing the situation in the parliament. However, at the end, we could not come to an agreement and one of the parties which opposed this idea was the Republican Party. There had not been official consultations, but there were chances for it. Unfortunately, we missed the chance”, - Baramidze said.
