The Central Election Commission of Georgia has discussed the complaints and a statement of three different political subjects, which were demanding withdrawal of two candidates of mayor from Georgian Dream Coalition - Davit Jikia and Irakli Kakulia.
One runs for the mayor`s position in the city of Poti and the other in Rustavi. With seven votes against six the two candidates were allowed to continue their campaign. The opposition parties argued that the two candidates should not have been registered by the CEC, because they had not lived permanently in Georgia during the past two years before the announcement of the date of elections.
